In this article we would like to give you an ongoing overview of our projects in Ecuador. With our brand GUYA we bring a unique product from the depths of the rainforest to you in Germany and Europe. This company has a huge responsibility towards nature and people, which we don't want to leave out!

CURRENT: WORLD HUMANITY DAY

For Humanitarian Aid Day, we have come up with something special together with YAKUM and the community of Sacha Waysa. We would like to make it easier for the children in the community to access knowledge and education by purchasing one or preferably several PCs, printers, books, aids and pens. What is self-evident for us in this country is not in Ecuador. Electronic devices, for example, are about 2x to 3x as expensive as in Germany. As a result, it remains impossible for most to afford this.
To achieve this, we have integrated a new function into the shop.

With every order you now have the opportunity to make an individual donation. We will double this donation today, 08/19/21. If you still have enough Guayusa, then you can of course also donate by making your heart's contribution via our PAYPAL donation account.

EVERY PACK OF GUYA LET THE AMAZON GROW AGAIN!

Since 2021 we finally have an official reforestation project. This is separate from the collaboration with the farmer cooperatives from which we source Guayusa. Because we not only want to protect existing rainforest, but also help new rainforest to grow.

UPDATE Aug 2021
YAKUM has created a gigantic compost for the region. Because what many do not know: The nutrient-rich soil layer in the rainforest is not as deep as it is here. Just a few centimeters, sometimes a meter. In a functioning ecosystem, the nutrients are converted so quickly and taken up again by the plants that this does not normally pose any problems. However, once an area has been cleared, the rain (and it rains every day in the RAINFOREST) ​​washes away the nutrients very quickly. The soil becomes almost unusable and is only suitable for animal husbandry.
In order to be able to establish a functioning ecosystem again, the planted trees must therefore be supported with nutrient-rich soil.

EVERY PACK OF GUAYUSA PROTECTS THE AMAZON

Every beginning is difficult. This is how we have gained our experience since 2016 and parted with a few suppliers who operated against our ethical principles. We want to act holistically, fairly, ecologically and sustainably. We have come closer and closer to this principle over the years and can now proudly say that our Guayusa comes from 100% self-organized Kichwa communities. These grow Guayusa exclusively in mixed cultures. This cultivation method is BeyondBIO, because not only is mineral fertilizer dispensed with, but a whole self-sustaining ecosystem is created. This system is extremely rich in plant and animal species.

With every GUYA pack you buy, you support hundreds of Kichwa families, who receive additional income from the sale of Guayusa, in addition to selling fruit for the local market.
Of course, Guayusa does not become more expensive or inaccessible for the local market! The example often given by critics with quinoa does not apply to guayusa!
