Lemongrass from Ecuador
Lemongrass is one of many useful plants grown in Kichwa Indigenous chakras.
Since 2021, we have offered sustainably grown lemongrass tea from permaculture plots, thereby supporting hundreds of families in Ecuador’s Napo region.

Health properties
Pure lemongrass brings a clear citrus note to your cup without adding caffeine. Its fresh scent accompanies a light tea moment – on its own, after a meal or as an addition to your own herbal blends.
Lemongrass’s characteristic lemon aroma comes from its essential oil components, including citral. Phenolic compounds in lemongrass are also being studied. This natural variety makes the plant interesting; in the tea, its distinctive fresh flavour takes centre stage.
Try lemongrass with ginger, hibiscus or orange. You can add Guayusa to make your own energy tea. The amount of Guayusa also determines how much caffeine your blend contains. Start with a small portion of lemongrass and find your preferred flavour.

Recipes and ideas
Add 1–2 teaspoons of tea to the infuser for 400 ml of water.
Pour boiling water directly into the infuser.
Steep for at least 5 minutes, then strain.
Lemongrass is simple to prepare. Just pour boiling water over it and leave to steep for at least 5 minutes. If you like, leave the lemongrass tea in the water; it won’t turn bitter and will continue to release plant compounds.
It also pairs very well with ginger tea, hibiscus tea or our GUYA PURE.

Our lemongrass consists of pure, dried and finely cut lemongrass stalks from the Amazon rainforest.
Lemongrass is known for its antihypertensive, detoxifying and digestive effects.
It is grown in the permaculture forest gardens of the Kichwa indigenous people in Ecuador to protect rainforest biodiversity. Ideal for preparing tea or for your own blends, for example with Guayusa-PURE, Ginger and hibiscus.
GUYA now also offers this ingredient as a single product, without Guayusa to support the farmers in Ecuador by sourcing a wider range of their products and to give you the opportunity to enjoy high-quality ingredients. With every purchase of this lemongrass tea, you support both the farmers and the biodiversity in the Amazon rainforest of Ecuador.
GUYA’s philosophy is to promote biodiversity. Join us in this effort and explore the flavours of the Amazon rainforest!
You can be sure that we’re more than just resellers of ingredients. On our YouTube channel you’ll find short documentaries and vlogs featuring our farmers in Ecuador. GUYA founder Sebastian gives you a transparent look at how we work together and how your Guayusa is produced.
NOTE: The best-before date for this product is approaching: 10.26. The best-before date is not a use-by date: it describes the period during which the full quality of an unopened pack stored correctly must be guaranteed by law. The packaging protects against light, moisture and odours, helping preserve aroma, nutrients and quality. That is why our products can maintain the same quality for at least two years beyond the best-before date.
