100% Amazon Hibiscus

Grown in forest gardens to protect Amazon biodiversity.

Amazon Hibiscus is easy to prepare. Use 1-2 heaped teaspoons per 400 ml glass and pour boiling water over the flower pieces.

Hibiscus is also suitable for blends with Guayusa , Ginger , Ishpingo and Vanilla .

Our Amazonian Hibiscus consists of pure, dried and finely chopped hibiscus fruits from the Amazon rainforest. This species of hibiscus (Hibiscus sabdariffa), also called Flor de Jamaica, has a sweeter taste than the variant known in Europe.

Grown in the permaculture forest gardens of the Kichwa indigenous people in Ecuador, it supports the preservation of rainforest biodiversity.

The hibiscus flowers and their fruits are ideal for your own tea blends and perfect, for example, for ours Guayusa-PURE to refine the taste. Hibiscus also looks great in combination with ginger and ishpingo.

GUYA now also offers this ingredient as a single product, without Guayusa to support the farmers in Ecuador through further product purchases and to give you the opportunity to enjoy high-quality ingredients.

The philosophy behind the GUYA Products are always “promoting biodiversity”. Support us in this project and immerse yourself in the tasty world of the Amazon rainforest!

With us you can also be sure that we are not just resellers of ingredients. On ours YouTube channel you will find short documentaries and vlogs from our farmers in Ecuador. The GUYA-Founder Sebastian shows you transparently how our collaboration works and how yours works Guayusa is produced.

Hibiscus from Ecuador

Flower of Jamaica

Our hibiscus fruits come from smallholder farmers in Ecuador's Amazon rainforest. GUYA works exclusively with smallholder farmers who cultivate in so-called chakras (permaculture) or chakra plots (mixed cropping).

Health properties

Effects of hibiscus

Hibiscus has proven blood pressure lowering properties, reduces inflammation, counteracts bacterial infections, strengthens liver function, and aids weight loss.

In addition, anthocyanins act as extremely powerful antioxidants (stronger than vitamins C and E) and thus help fight free radicals.

Recipes and ideas

preparation

The preparation of our hibiscus tea is simple

The brewing time depends on how intense you want the flavor to be. After 5 minutes, it already reaches a dark red color, and after 10-15 minutes, the flavor becomes very intense. 1-2 teaspoons per 400 ml glass is sufficient.

Blends with other teas, such as GUYA PURE , orange tea , ginger tea and Ishpingo tea are also very tasty.
