Lemongrass from Ecuador
Lemongrass is one of the many useful plants that grow alongside Guayusa in the chakras of the Indigenous Kichwa people.
Since 2021, we have offered sustainably grown lemongrass tea from permaculture gardens, supporting hundreds of families in the Napo region of Ecuador.

Health properties
LEMONGRASS combines caffeine-containing Guayusa leaves with the fresh aroma of lemongrass. Caffeine can support alertness and attention. Lemongrass gives the brew a bright citrus note, without needing to cut a lemon.
Guayusa brings chlorogenic acids and other polyphenols. Aromatic plant compounds give lemongrass its scent. This variety combines an interesting plant profile with a clear, fresh taste. Antioxidants and caffeine have different roles; caffeine is the direct pick-me-up.
Try LEMONGRASS warm before your next task or chilled over ice. Its fresh flavour goes especially well with a slice of orange. The amount of leaves and how you prepare it determine the strength – not the tea’s light colour alone.

Recipes and ideas
Add 1–2 teaspoons of tea to the infuser for 400 ml of water.
Pour boiling water directly into the infuser.
Steep for at least 5 minutes, then strain.
The Guayusa and lemongrass blend is simple to prepare. Just pour over boiling water and leave to steep for at least 5 minutes. You can leave the tea in the water as long as you like: it won’t turn bitter and will continue releasing plant compounds.
It also works beautifully with ginger tea, hibiscus tea or more GUYA PURE.

Guayusa tea with lemongrass gives you an incredibly refreshing lift. Lemongrass pairs beautifully with Guayusa for an herbal, citrusy burst of freshness.
Like ORANGE-MINT and CHAI, this is a uniquely flavoured Guayusa blend. Lemongrass has a bold citrus-herbal note and is delicious hot, cold or as an ice brew. Add a squeeze of fresh lemon for a tasty iced tea.
Our lemongrass comes from the same permaculture farms in Ecuador as our Guayusa. In 2021, while developing this Lemongrass blend, we sought out farmers who also grow Guayusa. This combination is special both for its flavour and for our philosophy of sourcing all ingredients from one region.
For a transparent look at our Guayusa tea with lemongrass and, more broadly, our supply chain, we recommend our YouTube channel. It features farmer interviews and documentaries about cultivation and processing. We want to give you greater confidence in the product’s origin and our collaboration with its producers. In our view, a simple organic seal can no longer do that on its own!
Our Lemongrass Guayusa is a medium-strength blend, with approximately 50% Guayusa and 50% lemongrass. It is at the same energy level as ORANGE-MINT. This blend is deliberately not certified organic. We invested the savings in the local farmers!

NOTE: The best-before date for this product is approaching: 10.26. A best-before date is not a use-by date; it indicates the period for which the full quality of an unopened, correctly stored pack must be guaranteed by law. The packaging protects against light, moisture and odours, helping preserve aroma, nutrients and quality. That is why our products can maintain the same quality for at least two years beyond the best-before date.
